MAGNESIUM ANODES
The magnesium anodes are used exclusively for the cathodic protection of buried metallic structures.
The choice of the type of anode to use have to be made bearing in mind the electrical characteristics of the ground, the duration of the system, the dimensions and the eventual coating of the structure to protect.
About this I.C.P. srl developed a wide range of anodes able to satisfy all the possible design requirements, subdivided into two categories:
- cross section anodes [ Cross type];
- U section anbodes [U type].
Both types of anodes are supplied with cable and assembled in cotton bags filled with backfill, ready for installation.
The mixture of backfill is the following:
• 70% Plaster
• 25% Bentonite
• 5% Sodium sulphate

• Underground pipes
• Underground tanks
All the anodes described above can be assembled with backfill so the final dimensions will satify the design requirements of the customer.
Our standard have final gross weight equal to twice of the net weight of each anode.
The connecting cable usually used is 1x6 mm2 PVC type;
Anyway are also avaliable the following types:
- PVC/PVC
- HEPR/PVC
- XLPE/PVC
The sections can be chosen from 1x4mm2 until 1x16mm2.
